Cafe Q is very excited and proud to announce that we’ve been selected 1 of the top 3 brunch attractions in the entire East Bay by the Contra Costa Times. As our brunch menu continues to grow in popularity, beginning on Tuesday November 12, we will be offering the same award-winning brunch EVERYDAY.
We hope you will join us on Tuesdays-Sundays, from 8am – 3pm as we open a new chapter of great service with our familiar season-driven, organic, quality Cafe Q food. Dinner service continues as usual, from 5:30-9:30pm Tuesday to Saturday (We will be closed on Mondays)
A year ago, on this date 1/18/12, we opened our door. Much had changed since then. We quickly evolved from a deli cafe with ready-made model into a quick-service restaurant; largely by customer demand. Our weekday lunch time dining had evolved from a high-school cafeteria into a relaxed business-rendezvous place.
We reviewed and revised our menu to reflect our new focus and introduced dinner menu along with local wine & beer selection under the direction of our new partner, Chef Jesse Branstetter, former co-founder of Oakland Chop Bar. The Q[uality] of our food is now under Jesse’s keenly, watchful eyes.
We are happy to acknowledge that with all these evolution throughout the year, we are still able to maintain our mission of bringing to Alameda a serious eatery with focus on healthy, wholesome cooking, using organic and/or locally sourced products. We still make 98% of our food from scratch, with the exception of a few condiments.
Lastly, but most importantly, we could not have gotten this far without your support. Your continued patronage and words of encouragement meant so much to us. THANK YOU!
With one year under our belt, our progress continues to evolve. In the next coming weeks, please keep an eye and spread the word, we will introduce signature prix-fixe dinner menus, along with occasional music events. Jesse’s creativity will be putting in higher gear w/ our beloved, little kitchen!!! We are looking forward to seeing you then.
With our heartfelt and warmest appreciation,
All of us @ Cafe Q
Jesse Hirsch, The Examiner: A lunchtime visit to unassuming little Café Q in Alameda yielded one of the best meals of the year. Go there now.
